We welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of any legally protected characteristic (for example gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or age).

However, we do have some eligibility criteria which all applicants must be able to fulfil:

We can only employ you if:

  • Under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 you are eligible to be resident and entitled to work in the United Kingdom; and
  • You satisfy the nationality rules for employment within the Civil Service.

If invited to interview you must bring:

  • Proof of your nationality - for example your passport, birth certificate, or National Identity Card.
  • Confirmation of your National Insurance Number.
  • Proof of your legal right to work in the UK.

You will also be asked to complete a Nationality and Immigration Status form and if you are successful at interview, you’ll need to undergo a criminal records check.

Some posts, mainly in the Investigations and Enforcement area, will require additional security clearance - this will be made clear in any advertisement
