Information needed to register

Our online application form will ask you to provide details about what your charity does, where it operates, who is involved and how we can contact you. Please note this forthcoming change to our online registration process.

Currently we encourage all accompanying documents (governing documents, trustee declaration, bank statement and other supporting documents) to be attached at the time the online application is submitted. From 1 March 2012 it will become compulsory to attach these documents at the point of submission. So it is essential that you and your clients will have prepared all these documents in advance of completing the online form. This is particularly relevant if there is an urgent deadline for consideration of the application.

We have updated our website to explain our changes and have also provided some helpful guidance on how customers should use the system to best effect as well as how to generate PDF files.

So you know the information we need before you begin your online application you can view guidance notes for each section. This document is in PDF format so Adobe Reader® is required to view or print it. For information on downloading Adobe Reader®, please see Help with PDF files.

Knowing all the information we require before you complete the online form will speed up the completion process.

When you submit your online application you will receive a confirmation email containing a copy of your application.

Please Note:

The Commission is required to make available for public inspection copies of the trusts of any registered charity that have been supplied to the Commission. This is usually done by supplying a copy of the governing document. Therefore any personal details that have not been redacted (blanked out) will be available to the public to view.

Please note that the Public Register of Charities only displays the names of trustees and not addresses.
