"click, in touch online"
making our services easier and quicker for charities
More and more customers are now using our online service to update their charity details and to submit their Annual Returns and Annual Updates. Around 65% of Annual Return 2007 forms received so far have been submitted online. The service is easier than ever to use but with customers' help and feedback we are committed to improving it further. Every charity has been given an online password but if you have mislaid this or need a new one, you can easily order another password online.
We will send a new password to the contact email address if you have given one, or to the correspondent's postal address.
Just follow the "Click" logo for access to our secure online environment. The online service helps charities, their supporters, donors and the general public in a number of ways:
- The system reminds you that your Annual Return is due and gives a daily countdown to your deadline date. You can submit the form online and 'attach' your Trustees' Annual Report and accounts as well.
- You can save, view and print the Annual Return or Annual Update at any stage while you are working your way through it. In this way you can share information and verify it with trustees before submitting the final version.
- Smaller charities can use the system to make their annual updates without having to send in any written details.
- Updates will normally take effect and appear on the Register of Charities within 24 hours.
- The timely appearance of updates on your charity's record means that you will be able to present your work more quickly to supporters and donors through the publication of your Trustees' Annual Report and accounts on our web site.
- A secure messaging service allows you to send messages or ask for advice directly. You can also use this to send us documents online.
- We will acknowledge by email every message you send us via the online messaging service. If you have given us an email address for contact with your charity, we will also acknowledge by email every submission of forms, accounts and reports that you make.
- The system is available at a time to suit you.
- Our online service provides a secure environment in which messages or documents you submit cannot be tampered with.
- The system provides online guidance and help screens and is supported further by a dedicated helpline on 0845 3000 197. Advisers are available to answer your queries between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays (excluding national holidays).
If your charity has an income of under £250,000 you could have a chance to win in our monthly £1000 prize draw, simply by using our online services. See the list of previous winners.
