This new publication reflects the significant changes to the Charity Commission’s approach to regulation of the charity sector. It re-affirms the principle that charities must be free and independent from government, and summarises the seven principles to which we will work in regulation of a sector which is of huge importance to economic, social and cultural life.

The Commission's Simplification Plan reflects our commitment to reducing unnecessary burden on charities and their trustees.
This new publication is the Charity Commission Partnership Strategy approved by the Board at its open Board meeting on 29 November 2006. It sets out our proportionate approach to working in partnership with sector, sub sector and other organisations in delivering our services.
