NAME OF CHARITY |
| |
|
| |
Thank you for your letter of ## advising us that the charity has changed its name. |
| |
A charity’s name may only be formally changed if its governing document includes a power that enables this to be done. The above charity’s governing document does not include such a power so we have placed the new name on our Register as a working name as part of the charity’s particulars under s.3(3)(b) of the Charities Act 1993. |
| |
The charity can be traced on our Register through the working name, making it clearly and publicly identifiable with the charity. The working name may be used on all letterheads, promotional material, reports and other literature of the charity. |
| |
If the trustees do have a strong reason for the name given by the governing document to be formally changed, or want to make other alterations to the governing document, please contact us again explaining what they want to do and why. We will then consider how we can best help. |

[Yours sincerely / faithfully] |
