This OG sets out examples of named institutions which are exempt charities (see {OG 57 A1 section 2). In some cases it refers to specific legislation. In other cases it merely states that the institution is a Higher Education Corporation.
  NB: This is a comprehensive list. However, caseworkers will come across situations where examples may need to be added or removed. It would be helpful if Policy Guidance and Publishing could be notified of any such additions or removals.
  If caseworkers come across an institution which is not listed below there are other sources of information which can be checked, for example there may be a Statutory Instrument which may help. The Department for Education and Skills (DfES) may also be able to help, particularly in cases where the institution in question is a higher education corporation or a university.
