Memorandum of Understanding with the Housing Corporation

This document sets out how the Commission and the Housing Corporation propose to work together both in developing policy where we have mutual interests and harmonising our operational work with charitable registered social landlords in England.

The Corporation ceased to formally exist in December 2009 as part of the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008. The 2008 Act changes the way that social housing providers are regulated. It splits the functions of the Corporation betweeen the Tenants Service Authority (TSA), the regulator and the Homes and Community Agency (HCA), the funder and support organisation.

Until the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008 is fully implemented, the TSA and HCA will be operating using Corporation legislation. One of the outcomes of this is that we will continue to use our existing MoU with the Corporation as an MoU with TSA until a new one can be negotiated.
